CADdent at the Formnext 2024

Formnext 2024: A look into the future of additive manufacturing
Formnext 2024 opened its doors again at the Frankfurt trade fair and once again provided a stage for the international pioneers of additive manufacturing and modern industrial production. CADdent was once again represented as an exhibitor and introduced itself as an innovative company in digital dental technology and beyond. Our internal research and development department continues to invest heavily in the optimization of additive processes such as LaserMelting of various metals such as titanium und cobalt-chrome or 3D-printing with ceramics and polymers. These technologies are particularly suitable for producing the most delicate and complex structures for a wide range of applications.

At the trade fair, we not only presented new developments, but also gained valuable insights into trends and innovations beyond the dental industry. Topics such as rapid prototyping, rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing took center stage and once again highlighted the advantages of additive manufacturing: Time and cost savings paired with maximum functionality and aesthetics - both in dental technology and in other industries.

CADdent: Synergies beyond dental technology

Formnext 2024 provided the perfect platform to showcase CADdent's Kexpertise in rapid prototyping which is rooted in dental technology and has already expanded to several industries. Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies and a highly qualified team, we develop complex prototypes and small series which meet the highest standards of precision and efficiency.

By transferring our high standards from dental technology to other industries - such as automotive engineering, medical technology or aerospace - we are positioning ourselves as a versatile manufacturing partner for a wide range of applications. These synergies enable us to create pioneering solutions and apply our expertise across industries.

New impetus for dental technology: insights from Formnext 2024

(Multi-) material printing as a future technology
Additive manufacturing in dental technology goes on. Advances in the field of (multi-) material printing are opening up new possibilities: in the future, the material mix of ceramic and metal could provide biocompatible solutions for permanent use in the oral environment. Equally exciting is glass printing, which could open up completely new horizons for dental prostheses thanks to precise CAD shaping. A long-term goal remains to realize complete and fully-fledged dental prosthesis solutions in a single process.

Automation and increased efficiency
Automated set-up and production processes continue to noticeably improve efficiency in dental technology. Although the production of individual restorations cannot completely replace industrial series production, digital Workflow and optimized 3D printing processes enable significant savings in time, materials and costs - important advantages in view of the increasing shortage of skilled workers in the industry.

Material certifications and quality assurance
Materials such as zirconium dioxide or glass ceramics continue to be in focus, as they optimally fulfill the aesthetic and functional requirements in dental technology.

Competition and quality: a global view

The international market observation at Formnext showed once again that offers from Asia are pushing onto the market with low prices. Nevertheless, the quality from the DACH region - especially in the dental sector - remains unrivaled. CADdent continues to focus on high quality and precision in order to offer optimal solutions for customers in the long term.

CONCLUSION

CADdent as a bridge builder between industries
Formnext 2024 once again confirmed the role of dental technology as a niche sector within additive manufacturing. However, valuable synergies are created through the exchange with leading industries such as automotive, mechanical engineering and medical technology. CADdent sees it as a task and an opportunity to pick up on innovations from these sectors. With this holistic approach, we not only drive our industry forward, but also contribute to interdisciplinary developments - for a future full of precision, efficiency and innovation.
