Vienna International Dental Exhibition (WID)
– a recap by Fabian Rager

recap by Fabian Rager

It was #ViennaCalling for us from May 20th to 21st, 2022. After the long break caused by the pandemic, the Vienna International Dental Exhibition was the second trade fair that we personally visited after Zahntechnik Plus, whose recap and impressions you can find here. Our colleagues from the sales team were looking forward to finally seeing our Austrian colleagues from the dental industry face-to-face again.

With around 4,800 square meters of space and over 100 exhibitors, the WID offered the ideal platform for many informative discussions. We were amazed at how well our product portfolio - from FAB Zirconia to our digital model casting to the DLyte polishing machine - was accepted by the trade fair visitors.

WID 2022 - This is what is driving the dental sector

In addition to all the relief that personal exchange can finally take place again after the long break at the trade fair, the topics which are particularly preoccupying the dental industry were also noticeable. Laboratories are clearly concerned with the demographic change in dental laboratories and with it the lack of specialists and young people. Fewer and fewer dental technicians are being trained because interest in skilled professions is unfortunately dwindling.

Hence the desire for the automation of workflows and process optimization and the hunger for innovations in this area in particular. This feedback encourages us to go the right way and not only act as a manufacturing service provider, but also to offer solutions for everyday dental laboratory work and thus also to be a reliable partner for dental laboratories. This is precisely why research and development will continue to be an important part of our corporate philosophy also in the future.

CONCLUSION OF THE WID 2022

Even if Wolfgang Fraundörfer, Secretary General of the Austrian Dental Association (ODV) and exhibition manager of the WID 2022, speaks of a decline in the number of trade fair visitors, we are more than satisfied with our visit to the Vienna International Dental Exhibition and are already looking forward to be back.

Would you like to take the opportunity to meet us in person? We can get in touch together at trade fairs and events. We look forward to you!
