The path to innovation: Discover rapid prototyping with CADdent

CADdent, a proven and qualified partner in additive and subtractive manufacturing, supplies dental laboratories throughout Europe with high-precision and high-quality dental restorations. However, our extensive experience and in-depth expertise are not only used in dental technology, but also in the field of rapid prototyping. We are pleased to announce that since November 2023 our official Rapid Prototyping order page is online and accessible for you.

What you may understand by rapid prototyping at CADdent

Rapid prototyping includes various processes for the rapid production of samples or individual components up to small series on the basis of digital design models. At CADdent, we include under this term all data sets which cannot be assigned to a dental product, such as a crown, bridge, partial framework or abutment.

The difference between rapid prototyping and manufacturing in dental technology

In dental technology, each patient-specific digital data record can always be assigned to a dental product group, despite its individuality and uniqueness. In rapid prototyping, on the other hand, no assignment to uniform product groups is possible or billable.

What rapid prototyping and manufacturing in dental technology have in common

Additive manufacturing processes have proven to be particularly effective in the production of dental products as well as prototypes or generally non-dental products in various industries. In addition, there is a demand in almost all industrial sectors for highly qualified materials and high-precision manufacturing equipment, such as that used in dental technology.

Upload area for rapid prototyping

To facilitate the ordering process for non-dental components at CADdent, we have set up a special ordering page for rapid prototyping. Watch the video below to learn more about the ordering process.

Individual price calculation for rapid prototyping components

The costs for your components are calculated individually on the basis of the designed 3D object. We analyze the geometric dimensions, volume and surface of your digital data set. For example, general production costs, such as machine operating costs or depreciation of our machines, are derived based on the x, y and z dimensions of your component and the corresponding space required on the build plate. Other component-specific costs, such as material costs, are derived from the volume of your data set. The costs for rework, such as grinding or polishing metal components, are calculated based on the surface of the 3D object.

This is what distinguishes rapid prototyping at CADdent

With over 15 years of experience in additive manufacturing, we at CADdent are your trusted and expert partner for prototyping, short runs and special requests. We offer various additive manufacturing processes, including LaserMelting, LCM (Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing) processes, and DLP (Digital Light Processing) processes. In addition, we have the capability to subtractively process various high-performance materials. This wide range of processes enables us to economically realize even complex geometries by processing metals such as cobalt-chrome (CoCr), titanium and sterling silver, ceramics such as zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3), and various polymers such as PEEK, various resins and PLA filaments. We combine a wide variety of materials with technological freedom to economically realize even complex geometries.

Benefit from fast delivery times and personal advice

At CADdent, rapid prototyping is indeed "rapid". Depending on the material, we can realize delivery times of less than one week after receipt of order. Do you have questions about rapid prototyping? Our experts will be glad to help you select the right material and make any necessary adjustments to your design.
