51st annual conference of the ADT in Nürtingen

From June 8th to 10th, this year's ADT traditionally took place on the weekend of Corpus Christi in the Swabian town of Nürtingen. The leitmotif for 2023 was "Gain an overview - develop perspectives". There were three days full of information for the visitors, with eight workshops and 25 lectures. There was also an exhibition with over 50 companies. The ADT – Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dentale Technologie – stood again this year for the professional and scientific exchange between dental technology, dentistry, universities and industry. We at CADdent, as an ADT exhibitor and ADT sponsor with the “Gold” category award, are strictly committed to this high quality. At the same time, the ADT general meeting took place in Nürtingen, as well as FORUM 25 as a talent stage for young dentists and dental technicians. The get-together party for networking and mutual exchange as well as the ADT party in the Schlachthofbräu Nürtingen successfully rounded off the event.

CADdent exhibition stand in a new look

CADdent's redesigned booth celebrated its premiere at the ADT industry exhibition in the Nürtingen Stadthalle K3N. Our impression was that the branding appearance in a new design visually convinced the trade audience, and the ergonomic design supported the workflow between us and our visitors. For the first time, CADdent presented itself at the ADT together with MINDFAB, our dental one-stop shop with tried-and-tested dental products and lots of know-how. At the booth, we focused on the topic of value creation: how can working hours, personnel deployment and costs be effectively optimized in the everyday life of dental laboratories and dental technicians? In view of our very well frequented stand, this question was well received by the specialist audience. Cost pressure, a shortage of skilled workers, economic volatility due to inflationary pressure and the unstable political situation in Europe with effects such as scarcity of raw materials and rising material prices are also key factors in the dental industry.

CADdent premiere: workshop and specialist lecture on digital partial framework

We are proud of another premiere: for the first time we from CADdent were present as organizers of the ADT offers of workshops and lectures. At both events, we concentrated - analogous to the trade fair stand - on the topic of value creation and focused on the workflow of digital partial dentures, supported by master dental technician Niels Hedtke from the HD ACADEMY, the training center for digital dental technology. In the practice-oriented workshop, Niels Hedtke designed a live digital partial framework (RPD) with the CAD software solution Exocad and gave face-to-face tips and tricks for a safe work process and the best result.

Dr. Christoph Lauer, CADdent Product Manager, then showed the advantages of LaserMelting from CADdent as an extended workbench for dental laboratories. The additive process implements digitally created 3D dental construction in cobalt-chrome (CoCr), titanium or gold with high precision and sets standards in terms of filigree and precision.

CADdent demonstrated how dental laboratories save time and money through the workflow of digital partial framework (RPD), supplemented by LaserMelting. In this way, highly qualified specialists can find scope for other important tasks, and the urgent shortage of skilled workers can be cushioned to a large extent. Due to the strong demand, we moved the workshop to a larger room in the Best Western Plus Hotel am Schlossberg at short notice.

On the second day of the event, MDT Niels Hedtke met well-filled spectators. With his lecture topic "Workflow of digital model casting - opportunity despite the lack of skilled workers" he hit the nerve of the audience through the topicality of his explanations, as well as the subsequent discussion illustrated.

CONCLUSION

Above all, the strong demand for the CADdent workshop and the resulting need for a larger spatial platform made the urgent challenges of the dental industry clear. Cost pressure, shortage of skilled workers, opportunities to add value while maintaining high quality are just a few of them. Our original intention that the selected topic of digital workflow, supplemented by LaserMelting and the associated opportunities for added value for the ADT trade audience are exactly the right choice, have been clearly confirmed. The joint appearance of CADdent and MINDFAB at the industry exhibition proved to be a synergy from which the ADT visitors benefited. We see ourselves as a dental service provider and a source of ideas for our customers, and this is what we set ourselves when we joined ADT.
