52nd Annual Conference of the ADT in Nürtingen
From Thursday, May 30th to Saturday, June 1st, 2024, this year's ADT traditionally took place on Corpus Christi weekend in Nürtingen. The main theme this year was “Restoring more successfully as a team - between analog and digital”. Over the three days of the event, visitors could expect a wide range of information spread over four workshops and 29 presentations. The program was accompanied by an exhibition featuring 50 companies of the dental sector. The ADT - Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dentale Technologie e. V. - once again provided a platform for professional and scientific exchange between dental technology, dentistry, universities and industry. We at CADdent are proud to be part of this high-caliber event as an ADT sponsor in the “Gold” category. The ADT members' meeting and FORUM 25 - ADT's promotion of young talents in dentistry and dental technology - took place at the same time as the trade fair. The event was rounded off on Thursday evening with a get-together and on Friday evening with the ADT party at the brewery Schlachthofbräu in Nürtingen.
Competition highlights and interactive experiences
This year, we not only shared our stand with MINDFAB again, but also appeared together with HIGHFIELD.DESIGN - Zahntechnik Wichnalek - which proved to be a complete success. Together, we not only offered visitors exciting insights into our innovative products and techniques, but also provided entertainment and interaction. There were two highlights at our stand. One was the darts game, which was presented as a prize draw with attractive discounts for the CADdent and MINDFAB product portfolio. And secondly, the raffle, in which there was a big main prize to win - the partial denture in the form of a modular system with explanation and guided tour of CADdent and a finishing course from the master dental technician Norbert Wichnalek. The draw for the attractive prize took place directly on site on Saturday and provided exciting moments and a lucky winner. Both activities were very well received and many visitors enthusiastically took part and tried their luck.
We are particularly proud of the premiere of our workshop “Are you still modelling or are you already digitizing? On the road in the world of digital partial dentures”. With this workshop, we are pleased to have exceeded the attendance record of all ADT workshops - including past annual meetings - with 63 participants. Master tecnhician Niels Hedtke from HD Zahntechnik/HD Academy guided the participants through the entire process: from the model to the finished design file of a completely digitally created partial denture. He not only showed the digital path of the design in Exocad, but also gave exciting tips and tricks for perfect results. In addition to the digital modeling of a partial framework (RPD), he presented the creation of the gingival portion and the setup of the teeth. In an open exchange, we clarified all questions about partial framework (RPD) design and it was made clear how previously analog processes can now largely run digitally.
On the second day of the event, master technician Niels Hedtke was also able to inspire the audience with his presentation “Making the difficult simple: The fabrication of a partial denture completely digitally”. The lecture explained how a completely digital workflow enables precise, patient-specific prosthesis fabrication without a model. It also optimizes technical processes, increases patient satisfaction and creates economic advantages in the laboratory. In addition, innovative technologies counteract the shortage of skilled workers and make the workflow reproducible and efficient. The topicality of master technician Niels Hedtke's presentation hit the nerve of the times, which was reflected in the following lively discussion.
For all those who would like to learn more about design of partial framework (RPD) in Exocad, the RPD-special with HD ACADEMY & LEVEL5CAD will certainly be of interest. In this two-day training course, participants will design an upper and lower partial framework (RPD) with clasps on site at CADdent under the guidance of master technicians Niels Hedtke (HD ACADEMY) and Alexander Lochmann (Level5CAD). CADdent will then produce one partial framework (RPD) per participant using the LaserMelting process by the following day. You can find more information about the course here.
CONCLUSION
The annual conference was a successful meeting place for experts from dental technology, dentistry, universities and industry. With a broad program of workshops, lectures and an accompanying exhibition, the event offered a wealth of information and opportunities for exchange. CADdent proudly presented itself as a sponsor and offered interactive experiences together with partners such as MINDFAB, HD-Zahntechnik/HD Academy and HIGHFIELD.DESIGN - Zahntechnik Wichnalek. In particular, the workshop and lecture by master technician Niels Hedtke focused on the opportunities and advantages of digital technology for producing precise, individual prostheses and optimizing the workflow in the laboratory. Overall, the event reflected the relevance and topicality of digital dental technology.
