Ivoclar zirconia - Ivoclar IPS e.max® ZirCAD

Ivoclar Vivadent is a company founded in Zurich in 1923. Its headquarters are in Schaan in the Principality of Lichtenschein. Ivoclar presents itself as one of the world's leading suppliers of material systems in the dental industry and supplies dentists and dental technicians.

In 2017 Ivoclar Dental announced the purchase of the Seattle (USA) based company Sagemax Bioceramics. Founded in 2006, Sagemax has since been run as an independent company by Ivoclar and continues to manufacture zirconium oxide for the dental laboratory market. Sagemax Zirkon NexxZr thus complements the Ivoclar product range.

Ivoclar IPS e.max® ZirCAD materials and indications

In order to be able to offer the right material for every patient case, Ivoclar has developed a coherent concept with IPS e.max® ZirCAD. The Ivoclar IPS e.max® ZirCAD system includes various materials, from monochrome opaque to polychrome translucent, and follows a self-contained color concept. Ivoclar offers an app (IPS e.max Shade Navigation App) to help you choose the right material and color, in which information on various influencing factors can be given in order to receive material and color recommendations.

In the following section we have listed all the zirconia materials that Ivoclar sells for the CAD/CAM-supported manufacture of dentures. We have decided not to include all materials in our diverse material portfolio, as our tests on zirconia from other manufacturers achieve better results in our opinion. We have marked the materials we work with with a "*".

If you are missing a material in our portfolio, please contact us directly. We will find an individual solution for you.

OUR CONCLUSION

Ivoclar has established its market position over the years. Customers know the material and trust the well-known quality. Again and again, however, we also receive customer voices who are not satisfied with the shade of Ivoclar IPS e.max ZirCAD. The Ivoclar materials are based on a specially developed shade concept and do not follow the established VITA shade one. So if laboratories have not geared themselves to the entire Ivoclar IPS e.max® system, problems arise again and again when choosing the shade. We at CADdent® therefore offer zirconia from other manufacturers in addition to Ivoclar zirconia – including FAB Zirconia, a material of our own brand - in order to offer you the best selection for your requirements.
